I've had the kids working on Christmas lists for the last few days. I prefer to have them done now and not wait so we can avoid the gimmes that come with all the Christmas commercials that will begin bombarding us as soon as we say goodbye to election ones. I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to endless toy commercials!
Not to mention, I'm craving Christmas something awful right now. I could do nothing but Christmas layouts and piecings, I've been listening to Christmas music and I've been planning decorations and trees for months now.
I think they've come up with pretty good lists =)
Hanna's Christmas Wishes:
- MP3 Player (in Hanna's words – "Not small, I will lose it")
- Harry Potter Boxed Set (after lots of thought, I'm okay with this. She reads them almost as fast as I do and hasn't had any nightmares. And they take her more than an hour to read, which is a big plus when buying the girl books!)
-
Justice Gift Certificates (www.justicejustforgirls – her favorite store and a website I'm asked to look at on an almost daily basis)
-
Amazon Gift Certificates (for more books)
-
Hollister, American Eagle and Aeropostale clothes (seriously, I have no idea where this came from)
-
And Imagine games for the DS (I think they have teacher and fashion designer ones that she's mentioned wanting)
I'd say that's a definite shift from the days of Polly Pockets and Barbies. Part of it makes me kind of sad, actually. I'm not ready for her to be this big…and well, to be honest, Barbies were on my Christmas list until 6th grade. Heck, I'm still waiting for an American Girl Samantha doll to show up under the tree for me one of these years =P
Caleb's Christmas Wishes:
- Ben 10 (I have no idea what this is)
-
Legos (yeah, that's surprising – I'll try to get more specifics from him)
-
Air Hogs (I'm going to veto this one – he's had more of these than I can count and they've all broken within the first week)
-
Wii Games (Nice and specific, that boy of mine)
-
Hot Wheels sets with track (He loves anything Hot Wheels
-
Pokemon Cards (again, I'm probably going to veto this one)
-
Markers (or any art supplies)
-
Chapter Books (he just got a Fly Guy book by Ted Arnold and loves it)
I will try to get an Amazon wish list going this weekend. I know it's cheesy and tacky, but I think with use being here in Florida for Christmas this year…well, it might just be easier for family in California.
They also both need new bikes – I feel like we just bought them new ones, but it's been almost two years and I can't believe how much they've grown.
ben 10 is a kid superhero, there’s a show on cartoon network. =)
